Game uses pre-loading mechanism for the locations/screens thus faster change on weaker systems may cause freezes I think.

I also have some quick pauses from time to time in the game, and it seems to happen in specific areas, especially in the one pictured above. That's the worst spot. You can see my system specs below.
OS: Ubuntu 13.04 64-bit, Windows 8 Pro 64-bit | CPU: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz | RAM: 3 x 1GB Corsair XMS 1600MHz | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285

If it's due to preloading (I supose but I don't know really), I like the design of the levels actually, I supose games like Castlevania SOTN used this kind of screens (also they were loading from CD so it's slower):
[Image: castlevania-symphony-of-the-night-psn-20...68-000.jpg]

If it was my preference, I like Teslagrad without this kind of rooms, but I supose that helped for the areas to come to be more fluid, and a game like this one that is really fluid would be bad to suffer for weakers systems. But I'll suggest if everything cannot be preloaded before starting, the preloads taking place in relatively "safe" areas would be nice, like the tunnel for the boss. Having the preload in an important fall/jump like in the one I posted the pic is worse. Also I'm not a programmer and I don't know if it's a must where they are or if it's really my system that needs to load something like the thunder, or it would be nice to have a graphic option to minimize these effects.

Gah ! 8'02 !
Only failed the damn robot that put the aura on me so I had to wait, and I didn't want to risk with the back jump. Below 8 is possible ;D Also I missed the flower on the bottom of the root room, because I blinked and sometimes doesn't give the aura if you don't go out of it and come back. For the rest is almost a perfect run in any other sense.

It will be HERE in about 40 minutes!

Yeah. What these guys have done with the demo is amazing. It blows me away. I don't even try to compete with them anymore heh.

Btw, I've been playing with 3rd trick (lightning puzzle) and I managed to complete it without dying with the same amount of time (with proper timing you can quickly fall down without bothering to avoid the charges). So it is possible to do "one death" speedrun.

Also, regarding 06:38 - have you tired to instead of waiting for the robot - go back, get charged with field and do the jump trick?

Will post stats later.

I've tried that Lightning puzzle with the falling, but is really so simple to just kill yourself and appear/blink the next screen. With the gaining being nothing and having the chance to die while falling and lost the time, and not aiming for a zero deaths run. I prefer to do that.

About the pistons in the way back:

By the time of the pic the robot is in the vertical line more or less, maybe I can be in the classroom with luck, I would say a little later. Still it's 3 seconds more or less more waiting for the robot in classroom screen, and probably 2-3 get out from the hole (with a high % of failure, I don't mind to risk starting the game, but not at that point). The robot do the way to the activation of the box from that point in like 6-7, so I think it would be at the yellow circle about to activate the box if I perform the jump trick, so I think is a waste of time also. Maybe if I get a "perfect" run before and if I don't have anything more to gain time, I would try.

Never said you will gain anything, it is more for advanced challenge/perfect run.

Here be numb3rs!

[Metr 8:02] (against 8:19)
Start -> Boss Fight: 02:45:15 (+6 secs saved)
Boss Fight Time: 01:31:12 (Start -> Boss End: 04:16:28) (-1 secs lost)
Boss End -> Roots 02:53:28 (Start -> Roots: 07:10:19) (+7secs saved)
Roots -> End: 00:52:11 (+4secs saved)
Start -> End: 08:02:29 (+16,11 secs saved in total)

Time wasted: (-2,04 secs lost) robot hit, (-1 secs lost) missed flower

7:59, with the robot failure again! T_T

New caterpillar screen technique used, hovering caterpillar! ^^
(Faster but I messed while hitting the second caterpillar so more or less is the same time), failed the last boot teleport so I had to blink again to pass the last barrier again, and this time I got the flower of the root screen, but I lost time going up.

At least recorded it in full screen this time, editing and uploading later, I think it will be the last one, I hate that robot now and I want to have revenge, but suscribers will hate me with so many videos to just cut 3 seconds, it will be on the last days of the competition if I upload any other video unless is without any kind of fail Big Grin

Anyways wanted that 7 on the minutes, happy with that! Big Grin

You know, you don't need to wait 2 seconds, you can jump on the RIGHT (from the platfrom you usually wait on) after being hit and when moved closer to the electrocharge by the forcefield - just blink.

I know, did it while training there, but last time playing a run I blinked into the lightning so I didn't want to risk. But who don't risk don't win I guess.
One day you'll make me a good speedrunner with guts I promise Big Grin
(And really I improved a lot the runs with to your advices)

PD: Hovering Caterpillar technique !

Btw, Rainy reminded about another trick I always wanted to try but never got a chance: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filed...242179106/ ("pre-last" comment). Usually, in every speedrun so far boss fights never were less than 1:30 but with this trick it may be possible to save 2-3 seconds (or more?).

Did it in some run, but only one at a fight and I thought the cube entered just at the moment Fernus was about to open the mouth. Cubes doesnt need to be blue, that for sure also. If you can do it in any moment it could save time. Also stacking them will be hard, but I managed to do that usually hitting the boxes with the head at the point they usually fall so you got more chance to stack them.
We don't lose anything trying ! Wink

I played the demo at Eurogamer today and I found it very enjoyable and I will be waiting for this game to be fully released. However, I am not entirely sure whether this will be available for mac in the demo version because Desura doesn't seem to have a mac download.

It's available for mac also. Just select "Teslagrad Demo" -> "download direct". Or you could use the link located at http://rain-games.com/downloads/.

For some reason after the fight with Gerike Ball the upper part of the tower still locked with the iron barrier. Is it supposed to?

Also, the amount of scrolls you've collected does not affect anything at all? I've got them all by now.

Yes, there is currently no way to go up the entire tower through the shaft only.
It would be nice though.
