Plans For Level Editor?
#1
Autotile looks great, but not everyone can afford it, and not everyone will be able to use something as advanced. Are you guys considering the possibility to make an easy to use level editor for the game?

This will allow players to create their own campaigns and share them in the Steam Workshop when the game makes it onto Steam. :)

Of course I'm sure the main campaign when finished will be satisfactory enough, but people may love the game enough to want to play some new levels or create their own. People will probably come up with some unthought-of unconventional ways to make puzzles that will bring an extra challenge and more fun to the game.

I know this is really early on in the development of the game, this is just a question for the game's future.

A level editor would be really awesome, and it has been mentioned in passing in the office at different points, but I don't believe it's something we are actively looking into right now. It would take a lot of time to make something that would be satisfactory for us to release, and right now our focus is on making the demo and ultimately the official release as bug-free as we can. Adding a level editor to the mix would probably make poor Fredrik's head explode in a thoroughly unpleasant manner.

That said, we're not completely dismissing the possibility in the future, but at this point in our schedule it's not terribly feasible for us to dedicate time to implement such a huge new facet of the game. But it's cool to know that there's interest for it! It would be sweet to see what kinds of things people could come up with in the world we've created.

Hehe, yeah lets not make Fredrik's head explode. :P It should be after release if at all.

Yeah, we need him for coding and scolding people for bad puns. The office would be chaos without him.
